WHAT WE BELIEVE ABOUT...

All People

We believe that people are not the enemy. There should never be struggles with believers against other believers. Neither should there be struggles between believers and non-believers. We are called to live peaceably with all mankind and to be representatives of God's love to all. We believe that God has directed us to be a River of Hope to ALL PEOPLE regardless of color, nationality, past or current life situations or religious backgrounds. (Romans 15: 5-7, Ephesians 6:12, 1 John 4:20, 1 Thessalonians 5:11-16)

Destiny

We believe God has a destiny and plan for everyone in this world to have abundant life. It is the responsibility of His church to proclaim His love and purpose to all those who have not received it, that they may understand and reach their destiny. (Jeremiah 29:11-13, Romans 15:1-2, Hebrews 10:24-25)

The Bible

We believe the Bible.... all of it. We cannot just pick and chose the scriptures that fit within our denominational guidelines. God is sovereign and all knowing. We do not alter the Word to fit our way of thinking, but we alter our way of thinking to fit the Word. (2 Timothy 3:16)

Tradition

Religious traditions limit the power of the Holy Spirit in a believer's life because their traditions by definition dictate that He can only operate within "the way we've always done things". There is only one way unto salvation and that is Jesus Christ, however as generations evolve our methods for reaching the lost must evolve as well. We believe that God has called us to be a voice that breaks the hold of religious tradition off of the hearts and minds of believers so that they can be free to experience all that He has for us. (Matthew 15:1-12, Mark 7:1-9)

Jesus

We believe God's only Son, Jesus, came to Earth, born of a virgin named Mary. While here, he walked as a man that lived a perfect life without any sin. His mission... to become the final sacrifice for sin. (Matthew 1:18-25, Hebrews 9:11-28)

Salvation

The Bible says that we were all born into a sinful nature because of the sin that Adam committed in the Garden of Eden. The Bible also says that the penalty for sin is death. Previously, God had accepted the yearly sacrifices of animals as payment for the sins of the people. Jesus came to offer His own life as the final sacrifice that would pay the sin debt once and for all. This is a free gift offered to all mankind. All we have to do is accept this gift. This is the only way to "be saved" and receive eternal life. Because of our sinful natures, there is nothing that we can do in ourselves to be good enough to earn salvation. Therefore, we must all make a personal decision to receive Jesus as our Saviour. (John 3:16, Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9)

Holy Spirit Baptism

Receiving Jesus as our personal Saviour ensures us that we will one day spend eternity with Him in Heaven after we depart this life. Salvation is all that is needed to have eternal life, however in order to have power over the enemy and an effective life here on earth we must be willing to allow the Holy Spirit to operate in our lives. This is called the Baptism of the Holy Spirit when we yield ourselves to Him and allow Him to guide our decisions and actions. We believe the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is an essential part of the Christian walk. (Luke 24:49, Acts 1:8, Acts 10:38)

Gifts of the Spirit

We believe the same gifts of the Spirit that were active in the days of the Apostles are still available to believers today because God is no respecter of persons and we have the same Holy Spirit living within us that the people had at that time. When you receive the Holy Spirit into your life, you receive His power and all the gifts that He possesses. Sometimes His power is manifested as a Word of Knowledge, sometimes as a Miracle or Healing but no matter the gift in operation, His power is always shown as a demonstration of the love of God and to give glory and honor to His Name. (1 Corinthians 12:1-11, Romans 12:6-8)

Reaching Out

The Bible teaches that God is Love. When a person has God in their live, their lives are filled with His love to the point of overflowing. His love is so great, it cannot be contained. We must share it with others. Before Jesus ascended, He left us with instructions to carry out until His return. “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned. These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues; they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” We believe and have a heart to reach out in our community and the world and help the hurting and the lost. We believe this to be the perfect will of God. (Mark 12:30-32, Mark 16:15-18, Isaiah 61:1, 1 John 3:16-18)
