What kind of church is River of Hope?
We are a non-denominational, spirit-filled church. Our services are fully Christ-centered and led by the Holy Spirit. We are currently in a season of building strong foundations under our members through in-depth Bible Studies and teaching. Each Sunday, we enjoy a time of group worship and an introduction into the Bible Study for the day by Pastor Jason. Following this time, we break into Men's, Women's, and Children's classes in order to explore the Word in a way that can be easily understood on a personal level. Where is the church located?
River of Hope Church outgrew our previous location. We are now meeting as a house church until God opens the door for our new location. We are prayerfully seeking His plan. Stay tuned for more details!
When are your services?
We have a Worship/Bible Study Service every Sunday at noon, followed by a lunch fellowship. Also, every Wednesday night from 6:30pm until 8:00pm, we have "The Inner Circle" which is an adult Bible Study for those who want to deepen their relationship with God. Every other Wednesday night, the Teens meet for a special discipleship class.
What should I wear?
River of Hope is a "come as you are" church. Jeans & tennis shoes or suits & ties are equally welcomed. We want our attendees to be comfortable as they worship whether they are kneeling in prayer or lifting their hands in praise.
Should I bring my Bible?
At River of Hope, our teachings are all Biblically based. We want you to take His word for it, not ours. If you have a Bible, it is a good idea to bring it to the services so you can follow along in the Bible that you use at home. This way you will be able to easily locate and refer back to the verses as you contemplate the message later on in the week. If you do not have a Bible, let someone in the church know so we can get one for you.
What kind of music will there be?
As we are all created unique in our own way, each with different tastes and likes, we believe it is important to offer a blend of music styles so that most everyone can find their place in our services. Our main goal is to bring people into an atmosphere where they can be free to lift up the Name of Jesus as they Holy Spirit moves them. Our Worship Team leads us in Contemporary Christian Praise and Worship, as well as some Contemporary and Southern Gospel. Lyrics to the songs are projected on a screen to avoid fumbling with song books, which leaves your hands free for praise. When you allow yourself to get lost in the Worship, and you begin singing praise to God (instead of just about Him), it's then that the Holy Spirit will usher you into His Throne Room and prepare your heart to receive His Word.
What if I would like someone to pray with me?
There is almost always ministry time offered during or at the end of every worship experience. Pastors Jason and Angie, as well as other ministers are always available to pray with you. You are invited to speak personally to them before or after the services or you can also email personal prayer requests to info@riverofhopechurch.com
What's available for my kids?
Children are not just the church of tomorrow, but they are a vital part of our churches today. At River of Hope, we invite our children to take an active part in our services. We don't believe in just teaching our children what we know about the Bible, but our goal is to show them how to get into their Bibles and find answers for themselves through regular Sunday School teaching. We assist our children in realizing and developing their own gifts and callings by giving them opportunities to minister to their peers, as well as mission opportunities.
Will I be asked to give money?
Offerings are given as an act of worship for our regular attendees at River of Hope. We teach and believe in Biblical stewardship and tithing. For new visitors, your presence is a gift to us. We want you to be blessed without feeling any obligation to give.
How long do the worship services last?
Typically our services last around an hour and a half, followed by a time of lunch and fellowship. Although, all of our services are led by the Holy Spirit so we do not want to put a time limit on a move of God. We do not have a Sunday evening service so we can take all the time necessary in the morning worship service, and then enjoy our evenings fellowshipping with our families.
